Electron-beam evaporated bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) thin films and characterization

Abstract The BiFeO 3 (BFO) thin films made by the electron beam evaporator are systematically investigated. As most difficult part of this work, preparation process is repeated until optimal deposition power and elemental composition BFO obtained. With help X-ray diffraction Raman spectroscopy, we specify precisely that sample annealed at temperature 650 °C purest phase with rhombohedral R3c structure. Scanning Electron Microscopy images provide surface morphology cross-sectional thickness each for further performance analysis. aim understanding changes in chemical bond structure samples different annealing temperatures, applied photoelectron spectroscopy result indicates absorption oxygen increasing raising temperature. Finally, measured magnetic property resistivity to explore their applications. saturation magnetization measurement shows correlation between microstructures such as structure, grain size. Meanwhile, electronic explains close relationship morphology.
